Standing Open Water (Meres, Pools, Canals and Ponds)
Plan status: Implementation underway

Vision statement
A. Protect all standing open water from loss or degradation.
B. Increase the number of open water bodies valuable to wildlife through restoration or
habitat creation.
C. Maintain and enhance existing areas of standing open water through appropriate
management.
D. Improve knowledge of standing open water through survey, research and monitoring.
E. Increase awareness of the value of standing open water.

Overview report
08/06/2009 The new standing open water HAP was adopted by the steering group in April 2009. The actions listed in this plan now reflect current work on this habitat in Shropshire. A new set of SMART targets have been adopted and have replaced the previous targets. The old actions have been left on BARS to reflect previous action on this habitat. More >
