Vision statement
|
|
We have continued to increase knowledge of the ecological problems facing the species. The main threats continue to relate to intensive agriculture, woodland degredation and agricultural drainage. Song thrush numbers have increased and BAP targets to halt or reverse the decline have therefore been achieved. Excellent advances have been made in deploying new, tiered agri-environment schemes in all four countries, and some options may benefit song thrushes. The unpredictable effects of climate change, CAP reform and WTO negotiations will all need to be carefully monitored.
